3D Adjustment System Applied in Guigang Tongji Bridge

    With Tongji Avenue at the north side, Guigang Tongji Bridge stretches from East Jiangbei Road and spans Yujiang River, connecting Jiangnan Avenue at South. Total length of Guigang Tongji Bridge is around 2943.9m, and main bridge is about 1807.5m long and 38m wide. The main bridge adopts steel box girders and self-anchored suspension structure with six lanes in two-way direction (eight lanes are available as per future demand). Approach bridge is constructed by pre-stressed concrete continuous beams.

  • Challenge:

    During construction process, in order to make the concrete beam section II and III fall on the supporting bearings, the head part of beam section II should be lowered 910mm, and the end part of beam section III should be lifted 340mm, with horizontal corrective displacement of 150mm.

  • Solution:

    According to jobsite working condition and the technical requirements of three dimension positioning, KATTOR designed long-stroke three-dimension-adjustment system (3DAS). Two sets of 600t cylinders were horizontally arranged on top of temporary pier. On pier S2, there were four sets of 600t cylinders installed on horizontal and longitudinal directions. On pier S3, two sets of 600t cylinders were horizontally arranged. The entire 3DAS system adopted PLC integrated controlling system to realize the precise movement on longitudinal, horizontal and vertical directions, therefore to complete the precise adjustment and positioning of the whole concrete beam section.
